OUR STORY

GameFace founder, Glenn Carter, launched the business in April 2017 after identifying the need for a greater digital media presence in local community sport. The journey started with the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL), known for its passionate supporter base and rich history of talent.

The then AFL South East Region General Manager and former Melbourne Football Club CEO, John Anderson fully supported the vision of GameFace, and the League has enjoyed the benefits since our inception, helping to raise the competition’s media presence to arguably one of the best in Australia at the that time.

Veteran ABC broadcaster Dan Lonergan joined the team in May 2018, and had an immediate impact with his superb commentating skills and fascinating presence on camera. Dan was instrumental in launching the GameFace Footy Show that was an immediate hit and has an uncanny ability to commentate live games across multiple competitions on short notice. Dan quickly became the face of GameFace despite his favourite saying – “I have a good head for radio” – and has developed a cult following, with many players dressing up as him on Mad Mondays and asking for selfies on game day.

Dan's focus is now on the MPFNL, calling games every week in addition to regular player interviews & various shows.
Dan was also instrumental in the making of the PInes Football Club documentary in 2018 when they faced Sorrento Football Netball Club.

With regular event vision and live streaming services on offer, GameFace became the official broadcast partner for Cycling Victoria in 2019 and has assumed responsibility for live streaming all major events from the Darebin Community Sports Stadium in Reservoir. The National Junior Track Series live stream attracted nearly 20,000 views over two days, with similar traffic for the 2019 Austral Wheel race from Melbourne Arena.
After testing the market the previous year, the 2019/20 cricket season grew GameFace to new heights. GameFace became the official media partner for the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association (MPCA), Cricket Southern Bayside (CSB) and South East Cricket Association (SECA), and has grown the profile of each of these competitions significantly.
GameFace worked directly with over 30 clubs, live streamed over 20 games across all match formats, and grew a new audience group of 5000 people. The biggest highlight of the cricket season was the organisation and coordination of the Mornington Peninsula Sportsmen’s Cup for Bushfire Relief charity T20 tournament, which united the local sporting community and helped raise over $80,000 for the people of Mallacoota.
