MT ELIZA FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB (MPNFL Division 1) is seeking interest from suitably qualified RESERVES / DEVELOPMENT Coaches for season 2020 

This attractive position comes with the full support of a new executive committee, new senior coaches and considerable membership support. Mt Eliza Football Netball Club is renowned for having one of the largest and most progressive junior sporting clubs in the Country. Exceptional talent is nurtured in the junior club framework with a consistent transition of greater than 20 players each year into the senior club. The RESERVES / DEVELOPMENT COACH role is pivotal in developing all our young players and preparing many for senior selection opportunity. The average age of the reserve /development team player is less than 23 years. All fit and keen for development and success. Selection during season remains a key task with selection from 30 players providing great competition for spots. It’s an envious position and a rewarding role 

MEFNC has won the last 6 MPNFL grand finals in Reserve Grade, a testament to the depth of talent at our Club  

Key coaching objectives:

  • Teach and execute Mt Eliza Football as part of club pathway to senior selection
  • Play a lead role in skill & personal development of all players
  • Clearly communicate club standards and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Maintain a positive and disciplined culture for all players and support staff 
  • Provide a safe environment, leading by example to the playing and coaching groups that ensures a supportive team first culture

To be successful the applicant will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Have a development first mentality where players are encouraged to improve and learn Mt Eliza Football. Team success is important, winning is an outcome of good programs 
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to get the message across clearly to all players
  • Ability to identify talent and promote senior team’s selection opportunities 
  • Ability to build the support staff team required to execute training and game day duties
  • Ability to execute a version of Mt Eliza football to maximise understanding of game style 
  • Minimum requirement of Level 1 coaching accreditation and previous coaching experience
  • A high level of organisational skills, time management and positive attitude

This would ideally suit two types of coach (1) some looking to advance to Senior coaching or TAC level or (2) a well experienced coach looking to share well-honed experience in a great environment.

This attractive position comes with the support of a new executive committee, new senior coaches and considerable membership support. Mt Eliza Football Netball Club has the title as one of the largest and most progressive junior sporting clubs in the country. Exceptional talent is nurtured in the junior club framework with steady transition of greater than 20 players each year on into the senior club. The role of under 19 coach is a vital role in the successful transition to the senior club and plays a pivotal role in the retention, development and continued success of the MEFNC

Key coaching objectives:

  • Teach and execute Mt Eliza Football as part of club pathway to senior football
  • Play a lead role in player skill development and personal development 
  • Clearly communicate club standards and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Establish a positive and disciplined culture for all players and support staff
  • Provide a safe environment leading by example to the playing and coaching groups that ensures a supportive team first culture

To be successful the applicant will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Have a development first mentality where all players are encouraged to improve and learn Mt Eliza Football. Team success is important, winning is an outcome of good planning, good programs, good team rules and a fun and inclusive environment 
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to clearly communicate to all players, parents and club members
  • Ability to identify talent and promote into senior team’s selection opportunities 
  • Ability to build the support staff/team required to execute training and game day duties
  • Ability to execute a version of the senior team game style to maximise understanding of Mt Eliza Football
  • Minimum requirement of Level 1 coaching accreditation
  • A high level of organisational skills, time management and positive attitude
  • Previous coaching experience with 17 – 20-year-old male players preferred but not essential
