A typical Melbourne in terms of weather saw play stop and start around the Peninsula.
We called into POB as they took on local rivals Mt Eliza. The Pirates were looking steady at 3/102 of 35 overs. Mt Eliza’s Tom Baron took all 3 wickets.
Other Provincial results included:
-Baden Powell at 6/115 against Baxter

– Tom Hussey notched up 78 whilst as Langy sit at 8/170
Crib Point elected to bat as they traveled to Hastings. The didn’t stop them for too long as they put 138 on the board. Hastings looking strong and yet to lose a wicket.
Billy Quigley was a star for Rosebud putting 118 on the board whilst Delacombe Park and Dromana also look solid in their matchups.
Over in Peninsula we visited Main Ridge as the Cougars young bowlers were excellent. The conditions were tough for the Pearcedale batsmen as they were bowled out for 87. This wicket from Jack Banks was a highlight.
Around the grounds, Red Hill is 7/168 against Sommie. Pines bowled Moorooduc out for 179. Long Island put on 136 in 40 overs against Heatherhill.
The sub-district competition saw us at Rye as the Carrum Downs bowling attack came to play. The Rye young tail-enders were impressive but could not hold on with Shane Smith putting on a clinic with 7/38.
Balnarring had a great day out as they declared for 320 against Skye. Seaford are none down against YCW from 31 overs. Tyabb had Ballam Park out for 195. And Boneo are 9/142 off 76.
