Frankston residents will need to register for their Foreshore parking permits this year. This comes after a council review of how permits were previously provided to ratepayers after many people were left disgruntled due to accidentally discarding them with some people not receiving them at all in their annual rates notice.
Council says the new process makes it easier for everyone with those eligible, able to apply online or in person at a Council customer service center from August this year.
Homeowners will be able to apply for two permits per property valid for 3 years while tenants will only have their permits valid for 12 months. If more than two vehicles require permits in a household then additional permits can be purchased up to a total of 5 per property.
To avoid having to pay for parking, foreshore permits can be used at all Frankston waterfront locations including Frankston, Long Island and Seaford.
